Jean Ong

Jean is an Anaesthesia Registrar working in Sheffield. She has served on the GASOC Committee as Secretary (2022-2024) and is the current Vice-President. She developed an interest in Global Surgery through her elective placement in Ilo Ilo (Philippines) and subsequent work at St. Francis’ Hospital (Katete, Zambia). She has been involved in a number of GASOC initiatives such as Annual GASOC Conference and the VRiMS-Anaesthesia workshops in Uganda, Cameroon and Zambia. She is passionate about education and training and hopes to forge closer international ties and friendships through the work of GASOC!
