I am ST4 O&G trainee in Merseyside, currently undertaking an Academic Clinical Fellow post at the Sanyu Research Unit.
My interest in global health was initially sparked following a medical elective placement in Western Uganda. I have since spent 7 months doing obstetrics in a government funded health facility in Kampala, Uganda. Following this I went onto complete a Diploma in Sexual & Reproductive Health in Low Resource Settings at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine. As an ACF I am involved in a project that hopes to champion, upscale and implement the BabySaver Tray. This is a low cost device that facilitates bedside neonatal resuscitation with an intact cord.
