International Surgical Rep
Alliance is a graduate of the Frank Ogden Medical School (Burundi), a general surgeon fellow of COSECSA, an alumni of the Oxford Global Surgery Group and of the Pan African Academy of Christian Surgeons (PAACS) and a Kids’ OR scholar. He is currently a paediatric surgery registrar in training at the Mercy James Center for pediatric surgery and intensive care-Malawi.
He has served as a rural general surgeon, clinical trainer, head of surgery and anatomy departments at Hope Africa University. He has served as a member of the international team as well as a Board of Trustees for Incision Global. He currently is a member of Association Burundaise des Chirurgiens, and an honorary member of ATSARPS (Association of Nurse Anesthetist of Burundi).
He is interested in rural surgery, in promoting safer, timely and affordable access to surgery, with an emphasis on children’s surgery. He is a global surgery advocate coordinator of the 2020-Global Surgery Anesthesia and Cancer symposium (Burundi) and founder of Mercy Surgeons that seeks to promote safer surgery for children in the great lakes region and beyond.
